Soumyadeep says,
During our workshop “Astrotour on Equinox” at Singalila National Park, we witnessed a rare event known as “Blue Jet Lightning” and “Red Sprites”. And luckily it was framed with the milky way! These upper atmosphere lightning takes place in the stratosphere and mesosphere. The blue jet, especially, is considered to be extremely rare to witness from ground! Members of Astronomads Bangla captured this amazing view of the lightning along with the milky way!
This is our first image from the tour and we are extremely happy to share that this has been featured by NASA APOD. What a joy for us!
I would like to thank my co-authors Samit Saha and Basudeb Chakrabarti for this amazing view. Many of our participants were also able to capture this frame! They deserve a huge shoutout for being amazing during the trip!
