“During my solo Astrophotography tour at Yousmarg, Kashmir at the end of August I was imaging the sky at the middle of the night. As the night wore on, the weather got chilly. Right in front of where I was taking photos, a group of Kashmiri boys (between the ages of 18-24) were pitching tents and camping and their car was parked just in front of me. By 2 am I couldn’t bear the cold anymore and asked them to open the car to sit inside for a while. Seeing me shivering in the cold, the kindly offered me to join them in their tent.
I entered their tent after much persuasion. I was amazed by Kashmiri hospitality. They offered me some food and coffee.
We had a long conversation about astrophotography. One of them got very interested about night sky and astronomy.
If I didn’t met them that night, I might not have been able to carry on my session all night long.
After my session, they helped me carrying all my equipments and delivered it to my hotel around 4 o’clock in the morning.
I would take this opportunity to express my heartfelt love to my Kashmiri brothers.”
